Vinum was established in 2001 by Vinestor AS. In 2002 the first wines were released at the Norwegian market. Vinum is known for often going its own ways, creating markets from regions formerly not known to the public. We strive to create an offer to the Norwegians increasing wine interest.

Portfolio, marketing and promotion

Our portfolio consists of wines that express their origin made by traditional and locally established methods. Most often by locally based family estates.

The success we achieve in the market is a result of teamwork with our producers, where we together define objectives, and set precise strategies for how to reach them.

By being known as innovative trend setters, we use our position and reputation in the Norwegian market as a leverage to succeed with new product launches.

We invest in market research and focus groups to understand our present, and future customers. We market our wines through restaurants, ads placed in specialized magazines, exclusive tastings in our offices with leading wine journalists, and participation to all relevant national wine and spirit fairs.

Values and human capital

Our focus is on the market, and our customers are always at the center. With great passion for the trade and the people around us, we have solid values and always do what we promise, through an open communication and involvement.

All our employees have sommelier education, with long experience in the wine and restaurant business.

Network and logistics

We work actively with the trend setters, with places that deliver the best in terms of quality and service. In that way, we built status and position through service. Vinum is part of the three most prestigious Norwegian purchasing groups in the on-trade market; NHO, Nores and Fursetgruppen. This gives Vinum the potential to reach over 600 Horeca costumers.

Skanlog is our logistics partner. They are a leading independent 3rd party logistics specialist, with full coverage of all Nordic countries. Vinum offers a complete package of supply chain management solutions to customers and suppliers, customized to meet their special needs and requirements.

Long term perspective and ownership

Vinum is part of Vinestor group, which is among the top 5 Norwegian wine importer groups by volume. Vinestor is owned by Katalysator, a family-owned (Møller/Schage Førde) investment company organized under the holding company Aars (www.aars.no). Aars is also the owner of MøllerGruppen AS and MøllerGruppen Eiendom AS. MøllerGruppen is a leading Norwegian automotive importer and retail group, and employs 3800 people, and has a revenue of more than NOK 20 billion.
